Here are some photographs of my dad Robert Watson Carey Sr., who enlisted in the United States Navy at 16 and became a combat veteran at 18 while serving with VB-109.

"Sky Cow"
Dad and his friend Robert Tovey were the artists of Sky Cow. The PB4Y-1 crashed on take-off in July 1944.
PB4Y-1 Climbaboard
"Climbaboard"
"Climbaboard" went back to the United States and became a training aircraft before it was scrapped in 1946.

Robert W. Carey Sr., awarded two DFCs and eleven Air Medals.
Dad later went on to fly with the Marine Corps and Air Force and retired in 1966.
